It’s a common question: Can you send a Snap from your Camera Roll? The answer is both yes and no. If you have the Snapchat app open and are looking at the camera screen, there is no way to access your Camera Roll.
However, if you close the Snapchat app and open your phone’s native Camera Roll app, you can select any photo or video to send as a Snap.
- Open the Snapchat app and log in
- On the main screen, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Camera Roll
- Find the photo you want to send and tap on it
- Tap on the Send button at the bottom of the screen
- Select who you want to send it to from your list of contacts, or enter their username if they’re not in your contacts list
- Tap on Send to send them the photo

Your Snap Will Automatically Open in the App, Where You Can Add Any Filters Or Other Effects before Sending It off to Your Friends
If you’re a fan of Snapchat, you know that one of the best things about the app is the ability to add filters and other effects to your photos and videos before sending them off to your friends. But did you know that you can also use these filters and effects when taking snaps in the app itself?
Here’s how it works: when you open Snapchat, you’ll see the familiar camera interface.
But if you swipe down from the top of the screen, you’ll reveal a number of different filter options. Swipe left or right to cycle through them until you find one that you like. Once applied, your snap will automatically open in the app with the filter in place.
From there, you can add any other effects that you want before sending it off to your friends. So next time you’re in Snapchat, be sure to give this tip a try!
